Right to Water
Sadly on October 28th we had word that legislation will be introduced in New Zealand that allows councils to privatise water supply. The ability for long term contracting to private sector has increased from 15 to 35 years, BOOT schemes will be allowed during which private sector can own the infrastructure, and control for water can now be passed to business. Right to Water issued a press release today and is happy for that to be lodged as a Blue October activity. We send warm greetings to others working against corporate control of water.
